Best podcasts for kids
< 1 min read
We often take 2-3 hour journeys in the car to visit relatives. Any recommendations for interesting podcasts that younger children can enjoy listening to in the car on long journeys? ![]() |

I love listening to kids podcasts, so I'm speaking from a strictly adult perspective!
I have always had a hard time understanding science, but have always loved it and been curious about the world around us. One of the BEST podcasts, from American Public Media, is Brains On! I love how they can talk about hurricanes one day and poop the next, and make it so engaging for kids (and apparently adults!)
Because I love to also learn about history, without a lot of big words or embellishments, I also enjoy the Mick Sullivan podcast, "The Past and The Curious." It's another fun time, and especially for family listening, because he asks thought-provoking questions in the segments to get families talking about the past, and if we could have done things differently.
Hope you and your kids find these as enjoyable as I do!

We love listening to Story Pirates. The podcast is based on children who write their own stories and then various actors and voiceovers interpret their stories in a really entertaining way. Afterward, they interview the author of the story to see how they liked it. They are short, funny, and cute.
We haven't listened in awhile, but we much prefer to the older episodes. The newer ones haven't resonated quite as well with my kids. I recommend going back to the beginning if you want to try it out. I believe they call it "The Early Years".
