Can you share some post c-section tips?

C-section mamas! Please share a post-op life hack that helped you get through recovery. Following my first CS, I avoided straining my abdominal muscles by tying a rope to my bed frame and sometimes footboard to help hoist myself up out of bed. This helped SO much when trying to get out of bed for the first few weeks post-op. Now I am scheduled for my second. How did you speed up your recovery? ![]() |

Don't cough or laugh! Unless you have a really amazing mattress protector lol.
Seriously though, try not to use those core and abdomen muscles. I know, I know. Easier said than done. When getting out of bed, try to roll to the side and then slowly and carefully push up. You might find that it is easier when you don't have a 9 lbs weight in your belly anymore, too!
If you feel like it is a lost cause and you're unable to even use your rope tied to the headboard trick, you may consider sleeping on the couch for a few of the first nights and keeping your baby's bassinet as close in height to you as possible.
Best of luck to you!
