Do you feel like there is a reason we should avoid GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in your everyday diet? I’ve done the research and see that there are opinions on both sides. I’m curious to see if other families actively avoid GMOs or if you aren’t really that concerned about them.

I feel that any food that is not naturally grown or has additives is a hazard to your health. By following a diet of organically grown (and not modified) food, you can eat a healthy diet.
Take corn, for example. People can not digest corn, and we get no nutrients from corn. There is no reason for us to eat it except that it tastes good. Add in genetically modified corn, which was made to survive heavy herbicide spraying, and you get "toxic" corn that grows well. If you look at these facts, why would anyone want to serve that to their children?
With auto-immune conditions (and cancer) rising rapidly, I feel that we need to avoid toxins in our environment and bodies the best we can.
We avoid GMOs as much as we possibly can, and here are our reasons for that choice.
1. We want the majority of our food to be grown in tandem with nature, and not against it. We believe that nature provides a wide variety of food sources that many people have yet to discover, and modifying chemicals to create food is not what is best for the human body.
Genetically-modified foods go against this philosophy in every way. Over 75% of conventionally grown foods have at least one genetically modified ingredient. This includes what the animals are fed. For conventionally raised cattle, for instance, they are fed a diet strictly consisting of corn, soy, and other products produced by laboratories. Organically raised cows eat their natural diet of grasses, and only supplemented with organic grains, when needed.
2. While we are not vegans, we do support the philosophy of "do no harm," as much as possible. GMOs do all kinds of harm to the animal population. Many animals suffer from kidney, liver, and heart problems, due to the immense amount of chemicals they injest through the feed they are provided. This not only shortens their lifespan, it also causes them pain and suffering. Humanely raised animals are not only provided their natural source of food, they are also treated with respect, unlike the commercially raised animals. The more consumers consume products made with GMOs, the more products will be made, resulting in more animals suffering.
3. Despite what many lobbyists purport, GMOs are not healthy for the environment. Tons of deadly pesticides and fertilizers are used for the GMO crops. And, these toxins are only getting stronger as the pests become more resistant to those already in use. This not only hurts the soil and crops of the GMO fields, these toxins also can get to local organic crops through the air and water supplies.
There are a lot of other reasons to avoid GMOs, and there are many documentaries which have been made explaining why. I hope you find reasonable and practical answers as you seek out more information.
