Online toddler classes
< 1 min read
With the ongoing pandemic restrictions, I’m keen to make a list of online classes such as music, dance or storytime sessions that could access with my 2 year old in the event of another lockdown. Any ideas? ![]() |

Check your local library system, as they many of them have started hosting online story times geared towards each age group. Also, some local bookstores may be doing this, as well, as a way to keep engaged with their communities. Also, your local parks and recreation department may have classes like Mommy & Me with online activities and virtual meet-ups for toddler age.
Books and Cookies (two of my very favorite things!) is a website which has music integrated with story times, along with sensory play sessions, and has really found some neat ways to share books with little ones.
Gymboree offers online classes geared toward multiple age groups, and their 2-3 year old classes help to foster early learning in math, reading, and social skills.
MommyPoppins.com is a really, really fun website, one that I actually love myself!! Their science experiments are so cool, and help make science fun and understandable! They have very unique activities and offer a lot of parental support. One of their more recent blog posts is titled, "20 Ways to Entertain Toddlers When You're Too Sick to Play." How cool is that?
Hope some of these will help you! There's always fort building and making a tunnel maze out of large cardboard boxes if the computer screen can't hold their attention!

We were enthusiastic about the online classes for our preschoolers and toddlers at the start of the pandemic. After 2 years of constant low stimulating online instruction, our kids are so over it!
Attending an actual class outside of our home with real people has been such a joy for our littles. Even though there are still many limitations for indoor activities, they do not know any better and are having the time of their life exploring all kinds of fun activities away from home. I sure hope that they will be able to continue to participate in person, but you never know. Times are so changeable at present. Having a fresh list of activities all ready to go for stimulating online learning is a good idea.
Virtual preschool is a good way to engage the children. Most have a storytime.
Here is one link that we enjoyed: https://www.creativekidsvirtualpreschool.com/story-time
Our kiddos liked the virtual Disney Tour and our local zoo's online educational classes. For our one grandson who enjoys trains, he loved watching the virtual train sites.
Many museums like the Smithsonian also offer online educational offerings for children. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/lists/cool-online-museums-for-curious-kids
Here's to crossing our fingers that our children will be able to enjoy live educational activities in the coming years.
