What are the best family activities with you have teenagers?
< 1 min read
My teens seem happy to spend most of their time online gaming or connecting with their friends, but I’d really like us to spend more time together as a family. What kind of activities work well for families with teenagers? ![]() |

Our teens are really in that space where they want to be treated like young adults rather than kids. We find that activities like playing cards or playing 8 ball or darts is more appealing to them than other kinds of activities - like watching movies or going to a park. We usually have a 'Friday Night Fun Night' each week and this is when we have a lot of fun with these kinds of things. My husband and I will share a nice bottle of win, we will put some great music on and then chill out in our 'man cave' area that has a pool table, dart board and table tennis. These nights are so much fun and the teens definitely get off their screens and participate.
I really hope they look back on these times one day and remember them with great fondness because they are treasured moments for me :)

We don't have teenagers yet, but I can see us doing a lot of the things we do now when our kids as they get older. If you live in the right climate, skiing with your kids can be so fun. I started to learn with my kids and it's one of our favorite winter activities. Some other things would be biking or hiking as a family. Camping is another great option. We haven't done it yet, but have always wanted to try geocaching.
Geocaching is an interactive hiking activity where you use a GPS on your phone to find different "caches" in various parts of the world. It looks really fun!
Anything that gets the kids outside and out of the house I think would intrigue them a little more. Even if it's an afternoon or bowling or at the movies, mixing is up is always important.
