What are the best parenting “gadgets” you’ve found?
< 1 min read
We have a countless number of tools at our fingertips that claim to make parenting “easier”. What are some of the ones that you found that are actually helpful? I’ll start by saying I think the Nose Frida is a lifesaver for kids with runny noses. Also, “The Bug Thing” suction tool has worked miracles on my kids’ bug bites. My daughter was covered in them and we used it on her and they never bothered her. They started to clear up within a day. ![]() |

Although I am not breastfeeding anymore, I would definitely pick Medela's electric breast pump in a heartbeat. It made my breastfeeding journey a lot more comfortable and more manageable. I did not have to use a manual breast pump (well, occasionally!) which takes so much time and effort.
Medela's electric breast pump became my best friend because I could pump my milk discreetly while I was doing other stuff at home or for the baby. This could also do some "magic" if you are a working mom and decided to continue pumping for your baby. They'll never know that you are actually expressing milk because it is so quiet that no one will ever notice.
This is a wise investment if you will be breastfeeding/expressing for a long period of time. But then again, I was more in love with direct latching because I loved holding my baby everytime.

We could not do without our sticky food mat for when we go out to restaurants. Its a foldable, rubber mat that you just wipe over with a cloth and it suctions to any table. We would squish it into the nappy bag when we were headed out and then lay it out in front of the baby when we went out to eat. We just laid bits of food on it to feed her rather than having to clean the restaurant table or clean up a big mess on the table top!

I have always been a 'less is more' kind of person and have tried not to accumulate too much stuff over the years. One thing, however, that i could have not lived without was my Ergo baby Carrier. We used ours until our kids were over 3 years old and just loved it for the convenience and closeness it allowed.
I will definitely be looking up the bug bite too you mentioned though...that sounds interesting....
