Cinnamon nutmeg oatmeal
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 ¾ cups water
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- fruit (optional)
- Combine the water and oats in a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- When the water begins to boil, stir constantly for 3-3½ minutes.
- The oats are ready when they become creamy and rapid pockets of steam puff through the cereal. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add fruit if desired.
