Rachel Timmerman – The Analytical Mommy
Communicate often and openly and hug! Kids grow up really fast and as they grow up, they sometimes think that being older means distancing themselves. If you don’t establish open communication early and show affection, the day will come when they distance themselves but still need you. It’s especially hard at that point to build that connection if you never had it. Talk about their day, their dreams, and their challenges when they are young, and make that a safe space so they can come to you when they face their big kid (or adult) life challenges.
Michele Tripple – Confessions of Parenting
My best parenting hack is to not sweat the small stuff. In raising kids for the last 18 years, I realized in the beginning I stressed about everything! I would make my kids pick up every toy and try to make them these perfect little humans, which was nearly impossible and just made me stressed all the time. Over the years, I learned to pick my battles when they needed to be picked and let the little things go. This not only has made my life a little less stressful, but it has helped our family live in harmony as well as strengthened our bonds with one another.

My best parenting hack is to set up a toy rotation to help kids keep their rooms neat and tidy. Many kids struggle to clean up after themselves. One smart idea that can work is a toy rotation. Start by taking everything out of the room and placing it into piles based on category—blocks, action figures, dolls, etc. Once these piles are made, create bins of toys with just a few items from each category. Every week, take out one bin at a time so the kids have new items to play with, but there won’t be so many that they make a huge mess. This will give kids an easy way to remember which items go where and make cleaning their room more manageable and stress-free for everyone.

My absolute favorite parenting hack is a busy board or busy book. When on the road or flying (and even at home), our busy book for our young daughter has literally provided hours of entertainment and kept us sane. Totally worth the investment.
Vicki Broadbent – Honest Mum
My best parenting hack is to dress your kids the same (if they let you) as it’s harder to lose them while they play in the park, for example. It’s also cute when it comes to photos for social media, ha!
Samantha – Journey to SAHM
My best parenting hack is to play with your kids at least once a day individually. It may seem like an obvious answer, but when you really think about it, it’s something that gets skipped over. Ask your child what they want to do and just spend 5 minutes with them with your full attention and no distractions. It will make a world of difference.
